A favorite childhood gingerbread treat:
Make your favorite recipe of gingerbread that fits into an 8x8x2 inch
baking pan.
Melt: 2 T. butter in the pan
Add: 1/2 C. light molasses
1/4 C. raisins
Heat: above ingredients
Arrange: 2 sliced apples in the molasses mixture in the bottom of the
pan
Pour: gingerbread batter over and bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.
To serve: While hot, cut into squares and flip servings upside down
onto individual dessert plates. Offer whipped cream flavored with a
small amount of powdered ginger or nutmeg, or ice cream as an
embellishment.
